| Track & Racing Updates Carpet Ahoy! The world's first installation of the new Ozite for RC racing is complete and in operation at SPEED SPORTS! We are racing oval and road course configurations throughout the week. General track use is just $10 a day. After 3:00pm it's just $5 bucks. Racing Rates & Tech Processes Changing Racing is now $5 per race entry effective 3/29/08 for non-club members. SPEED SPORTS Club Members will remain at just $5 per person for all night racing. Racers can expect a more formalized tech process as we try to protect the carpet racing surface from cuts and rips. Examples of this include checking cars for body parts or metal objects that could tear the racing surface. Tire compounds are allowed but excess amounts of compound, such that a cotton ball sticks to the tire instead of falling away, will not be allowed. Please work with us on these new check-in processes will help us protect the surface and set up more even race classes and groups. Pit in / Pit Out Areas Established We now have Pit-In and Pit-Out areas at the beginning and end of the front straight. Please launch and retrieve your cars from these areas to prevent wrecks and injuries on the front straight. Oval Action Wednesday Nights Wednesday has become a casual get together forum for a little testing, tuning, racing and fun with friends. This might change with the closure of RC Sports Mania pending. Road Course Racing Friday Night Come race on the road course Friday night with heat races and main events. Vehicles up to 1/10th scale welcome. Oval Racing Saturday Night The Oval is the place to be Saturday nights for tight racing and good times. What are you doing Saturday night? Check it out! Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! Be There!! Join us on Sundays for the 'anything goes' format. Want to run your nitro car on a nice paved surface with your buddies? How about a long jump competition? We still have the ramps available for use. Anybody up for high speed radar gun runs? Radar Update Our poor Bandit was wooped on by our Canadian Cousin, "Fast" Phil who smashed Jason's temporary 69mph with a stunning 78mph!! Go Canada!-eh! See News & Events for Pict's! Racers Unite! (on the Board) As we bring on new people it becomes more critical that everyone understand the use of the frequency board. Split venues such as this electric inside, nitro running outside situation will be impossible to control unless we are all on the same page with the use of the channels/frequencies. The Spektrum 2.4 GHz systems do not need frequency clips but still need to sign up & an instruction book to run. Use of the frequency board is detailed in the SPEED SPORTS Racers Guide available in the shop (beyond cheap - free!) |

| Racing Format Change Last Saturday we attempted to run the kids classes up front in the schedule but it seemed to delay things even more. As a result, this Saturday we will start racing at 6:00 PM and continue through the night with our regular programs. The timing system will be used for the races and transponders will be used. |
